365 days of images - - Day 5- Jan. 4, 2021 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH -- Morning Person

No one could be more surprised that I have evolved into a morning person than I am.  It has been an evolution as I have aged.  I live for the mornings, I am happiest and find peace watching the rising sun.  I take time for meditation, walk and of course the hunt for images.  This morning was a good morning, despite the misty conditions.  There are good mornings that I can find peace, there are sad mornings that grief takes over.  This morning was a peaceful one.  I'm grateful for each moment of peace.

The sky had color in the east as the sun was rising, but if you looked toward the west, the skies were dark and full of rain clouds.  I had a hard time keeping the moisture off the lens of my camera and glasses.  Didn't matter!

Pink reflected on the bay, the sand and the air was filled with sea spray and a slight rain.

The sky changes as the sun comes up.  I run from one point to another trying to get different perspectives of the same sunrise.  It is amazing how different one morning sky can be.

I like to look at the details and take myself right into the clouds.

When I got tired of fighting with cleaning my lens, I headed into Pacific Grove proper to do a little window shopping.  It still drizzled on me, but it was a little better, protected by the buildings.

I haven't had a haircut since right before we went into shut down last March, pushing a year now.  It's getting long!  Seemed like a good Covid image.

The rain started to get heavier and I had to head back to my car that was parked by Lovers Point.  Not far from where I was, but a wet walk.  I like walking in a light rain, it feels refreshing and cleansing.

The rain let up for a minute and I ran around taking just a few more images before it was time to head home to have breakfast with Noelle.

To Good Mornings!

For Philly:
I miss breakfasts together!

365 days of images - - Day 3- Jan. 2, 2021 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH -- Releasing the Demons

Sometimes when I get up in the morning, I can feel that the day will be a challenge.  There had been some family politics involving traveling and covid that I got involved with.  I had panic attacks when Phil was first diagnosed with cancer and I had them throughout the past 4 years during tough times.  The last couple of days have been full of struggle with panic attacks.  Lesson learned, pick your battles and right now, my energy must be retained for healing.  I walked and walked and walked some more trying to pull my thoughts together.

It was a misty, wet morning with stormy looking skies.  When the sun started to come up the color proved to be very pretty.

On the days that I feel troubled, I miss Phil.  He was always there for me.  His hugs were the best, he always was kind and directed me onto the right path.  This morning I missed him.  I told my daughter I feel like an island, I feel different, weird and isolated from the world.  This is an old struggle....embracing myself in all my weirdness has been a  lifelong challenge.  Bless his heart, Phil loved me for me.  That is a hard thing to say good bye to.

I took the sunrise in at Lover's Point, as the sunrises are spectacular there.
I then moved to Asilomar Beach, because I needed to walk it off even more angst.....Asilomar is one of my favorite beach's, a great place to get some more exercise.
The sky became gloomier, it matched my mood.

I thought of what Phil would tell me.  He would encourage me to continue what we started.  Keep looking for the beauty, and enjoy each moment.  The entire time Phil was on his journey with cancer, we kept trying to enjoy life, the beauty of the area we lived in and each other.

I found beauty in the flowers that were in the dunes.

I took pleasure in the fact I caught a bird pooping.  Even bragging to Noelle when I got home about it.  Notice in the photo above.  It made me giggle, I need more of that.

Dogs playing, pelicans in the waves and seagulls flying overhead.

I miss you Phil, but I could hear you say....
Tomorrow will be a better day.

Good bye 2020 - - 2021 New Years Goal set - 365 days of images - - Day 1- Dec, 31, 2020 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH

As I sit and wait for the new year to arrive, I'm reflective, sad and am hopeful all at once.  This has been the worst year of my life. Losing Phil to brain cancer was earth shattering and I'm trying to piece myself back together.  I miss Phil more than I will ever be able to express.
Covid,  social separation and political blues.
Phil loved Forest Gump, to work through his angst Forest ran.
I hate to run but I love to take pictures, so my grand gesture for Phil, is I'm going to take 365 days of images.  I hope that it will improve my photography, get me closer to nature and help heal me.  I know my grief will last a lifetime, I will love and miss him always.  My hope is this year will open up a new chapter of my life.  My morning walks are time that I can think, I talk to Phil and I love the hunt of the image.   I am setting a goal that I will improve my skills and learn more about the craft of photography.

The day begins with a quick stretch and then I'm out the door right before the sun rises.  There are very few people out, some exercising, photographers and dog walkers.  I usually spend about 3 hours walking, taking images and restoring my energy.  It is what inspires me to get up.

I never have a plan when I leave home about where I will walk, I let my inner self lead the way.   The last couple of days I have been walking where Phil and I walked as he recovered and tried to build strength.  I find it soothing to be where we shared so much.  We shared so many stories, held hands and enjoyed looking for birds, otters and gophers.  So many beautiful memories.

The moon is always a challenging image to catch.  I'm practicing and learning....

Each day the sunrise is different and I feel blessed each time I see it come up.

Waves.....represent my grief.  There is a release in watching them.

I think that the birds and wildlife are the highlight of my day.

Hummingbirds have been with me for the last few days.  Magical.  Those are the times I can feel Phil with me.

Little hummingbird feet!

Wishing you each a  Happy New Year.  I'm looking forward to carrying out my goal of 365 days of images.
#onmywalk  #onmyjourney

To Phil, I carry you in my heart.
