Starting before the sun came up, I headed to Cannery Row.  We have been having a lot of tourists lately and on the weekends I like to try to slide out a little early to beat the crowds.  Cannery Row is charming all lit up and I love the quiet.

Halloween decorations are going up.

😁

To the jetty next, it was quiet, not much to see, and the crowds were starting to build.  The wildlife seems to disappear as the human population grows.

I headed to the other side of the peninsula to check out the waves and I was glad I did.  Great big waves, surfers and birds.   I have never surfed in my life, nor do I intend to, but I adore watching them.  Today the waves were big and wild, the surfers were amazing.  They had people on the beach cheering at their stunts and skills.

Some just want to have their photo taken.

For Phil
When you first wanted to buy the van I was unsure about how I would adapt to camping.  It turns out I loved camping and those years were full of travel, fun and adventure. Our little dog Judy was a good camper too.  We drove across country, visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Vegas, Tahoe, from La Jolla to Trinidad, California and more.  We camped, we parked by the ocean and we had a breakroom when we were in the city.  I'm smiling remembering all the wonderful times we had together.  Seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the casinos in Tahoe, Redwood Forest and did I say every beach we could find??  We camped at Circus, Circus in Vegas, along the ocean in the Rincon, in Cloverdale among the vineyards and our favorite KOA in Mendocino.  You loved the van, I can look at your smile in the photo below and remember the joy.  I would do it all over again in a minute.
I miss you and my heart is broken.  Oh what joy we had.  Thanks for the love, laughs and romance that we shared.  Not to mention finding the van and giving us the years of joy and travel that we had.
Miss you.

365 days of images - - Day 260- Sept. 16, 2021 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH -- I've always hated good-byes.

Growing up in the military you say good-bye many times.
I have always been one who cries when they leave people.
I hate it.  The last 3 years has been filled with loss.
Tomorrow is my father's funeral, it is a hard good-bye.
Until we see each other again....
I love you Dad.

I roamed today, many thoughts filled my head.

Gerry's memorial is tomorrow.
Gerry, as we always said our relationship was serendipity.
I will always remember the stories that you told me about your ancestors.  While I visit where the  Chinese village once stood, I will listen for the fire sirens you would hear.
Phil and I appreciated and loved you.

Tomorrow my Dad will have military honors at his funeral.
He often talked about that he wanted the military ceremony, he was dedicated to his country and the Air Force.
I loved you dad.  Many memories have been whizzing through my mind and heart today.
Thank you for the values, strength and love you gave me.
I know Phil was there to greet you.

For Phil
I miss you.
I love you and you continue to fill my heart.
