Starting before the sun came up, I headed to Cannery Row.  We have been having a lot of tourists lately and on the weekends I like to try to slide out a little early to beat the crowds.  Cannery Row is charming all lit up and I love the quiet.

Halloween decorations are going up.

😁

To the jetty next, it was quiet, not much to see, and the crowds were starting to build.  The wildlife seems to disappear as the human population grows.

I headed to the other side of the peninsula to check out the waves and I was glad I did.  Great big waves, surfers and birds.   I have never surfed in my life, nor do I intend to, but I adore watching them.  Today the waves were big and wild, the surfers were amazing.  They had people on the beach cheering at their stunts and skills.

Some just want to have their photo taken.

For Phil
When you first wanted to buy the van I was unsure about how I would adapt to camping.  It turns out I loved camping and those years were full of travel, fun and adventure. Our little dog Judy was a good camper too.  We drove across country, visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Vegas, Tahoe, from La Jolla to Trinidad, California and more.  We camped, we parked by the ocean and we had a breakroom when we were in the city.  I'm smiling remembering all the wonderful times we had together.  Seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the casinos in Tahoe, Redwood Forest and did I say every beach we could find??  We camped at Circus, Circus in Vegas, along the ocean in the Rincon, in Cloverdale among the vineyards and our favorite KOA in Mendocino.  You loved the van, I can look at your smile in the photo below and remember the joy.  I would do it all over again in a minute.
I miss you and my heart is broken.  Oh what joy we had.  Thanks for the love, laughs and romance that we shared.  Not to mention finding the van and giving us the years of joy and travel that we had.
Miss you.
