My Wanderings 2022 - Behind Cannery Row - Where the Bay meets the "Row"

I walk through Cannery Row several times a week.  "The row", is filled will history, shops and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  When  I walk, I take all the coastal access entries so that I get to the back of the buildings, small beaches and overlooks.  The views are fabulous!

When the canneries were open, sardines crossed the streets through bridges.  They still line the streets and you can cross over Cannery Row in them.

You can get behind Doc Ricketts lab.   Ed Ricketts was marine biologist, subject of John Steinbeck's Cannery Row and well......my history crush!  Swoon!

Slide back behind the buildings and it is magical!

The ocean comes right up to the buildings.

Behind the Monterey Bay aquarium.

There are a few remnants of the past that still exist.

I love to watch the waves hit the posts and walls that hold the buildings up.

#18 new experience of this year.
Another new hat!

#19 new experience
I'm teaching myself how to edit video.  Noelle had been helping me, but her job is keeping her more than busy, so I'm teaching myself....

My Favorite Ten Images from Week 8 of My Wanderings - Feb 21 -Feb 27, 2022 - Rainbows, Sea Lion Breath and Bird Games

I was tired after our road trip to Solvang last week.   I took nice long relaxing walks, enjoyed the views and enjoyed the quest of finding images.

Nesting materials.

This moon's for you Phil - they always are1
Missing the hell out of you.

Okay - I love this hat!

What's new??  64 new experiences in 2022
A new experience for each one of my years on the planet.

#8 new experience
My daughter Nicole gave me a computer game called Wingspan for my birthday. It is a board game that is online.  We can play the game together and chat while we do it.  I love it!  A new experience, I'm learning all kinds of new things.

We had a frosty morning at the beginning of the week and I caught the Sea Lions breath!

I also took a few pictures of the Tin Cannery in Pacific Grove because rumor has it, it is in the processes of going away.  Phil and I walked in the building when the weather wasn't good for walking outside.  At one time it was a great place to shop.....I will miss it.

My Favorite Ten Images from Week 2 of My Wanderings - Jan 10-16 2022 - Stitches and Tsunami

It was a quiet week, I walked, healed and tried to be creative with the gauze holding the bandage on my noggin.  I didn't have a new experience this week until we had a tsunami advisory.  It was amazing how many people came to the beach to watch the goings on.  The tide was very high, the waves had power and my walk was entertaining.  My number three experience so far this year wasn't planned, but a tsunami advisory is just another one to add to the other experiences that have been going on the last couple of years.  What a couple of years it has been!
Tomorrow the stitches come out - Yahooooo.  It feels so nice to be free of that.
My favorite photos of the week.....
Oh and I just noticed I'm dating everything 2021 Duh!
