This mornings walk was along the Carmel Coastal Trail and it was sunny, joyful and full of memories.  Phil and I had many wonderful times in Carmel.  In fact we moved back to California after a very romantic visit to Carmel.  We had spent a weekend in a quaint hotel, walked on the beach, breakfast in bed and fell in love with the area.  The Monterey Peninsula has become home, I'm comforted by the memories I have here.   As I walked today I could feel Phil with me, surrounded by happy memories.

As you walk down the coastal trail, you have the ocean to one side and storybook houses on the other.  I walked on the trail and beach, enjoying the big waves, dogs on the beach and my memories.

The skies started off a light pink and the wind was blowing the seaspray back.

I spotted a heart in the sea spray above the wave.

While I was walking by Carmel River State Park I spotted Snowy Plovers.  They hide in the sand and are hard to spot.  Since they are shy, I was careful to keep my distance.  Small and look how cute!

Then I headed back down the coastal trail heading toward Carmel beach.

The highlight of my morning was watching the dogs on the beach.  Carmel Beach is dog friendly and that is a big thumbs up in my book.

I'm grateful to be able to take my morning walks in such beauty.  This project to complete a year's worth of blogs is helping keep me busy, going out early in the mornings keeps me isolated during the covid virus and I'm getting exercise too.  I know Phil would be pleased!

What memories!
