Foggy to start the morning in Pacific Grove but the sun was soon breaking through the marine layer.

Nice size waves.

Through Pacific Grove.

Deer activity in the dunes.

For Phil
Santa Barbara.... has been playing in my mind.  Where we met, visited as often as we could and many many happy memories there.  The photo below is from the Santa Barbara Zoo.  One very splendid day, a couple of months before we found out you had cancer.  Santa Barbara Inn, breakfast at East Beach and dinner on Ledbetter Beach.  All of it locked into my heart.  A perfect day!
I miss you.

365 days of images - - Day 134 - May 13, 2021 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH -- Wandering Around Point Lobos

Drizzly, wet morning, but that didn't slow me down.  I was off to Point Lobos.  I drove into the reserve, parked and proceeded to walk all over.  I studied the trails before I started and hiked a big circle all around the property.  Looking over bluffs into coves, through the wooded areas and cleaning the mist off my lens the whole way.  Grief comes and goes....my love for Phil remains the same and I continue to walk my way through it all.  Thank goodness for the ocean, nature and wildlife!

One of the reasons I wanted to visit Point Lobos is because the cormorants are nesting.  I have been seeing them at the end of the jetty in Monterey but seeing them out on the rocks feels like a wildlife documentary.  They were stealing nesting materials from each other, waddling nest to nest and it was bustling.  I ran into my friend Connie on the trails....thank you Connie for the support and loved you showed Phil and I.  You will be missed, best wishes on your new chapter.

Vultures were in the trees keeping their watchful eyes out.

The view along the trails is nothing less than spectacular.

A baby harbor seal swam in the green blue cove.

Wildflower decorated the bluffs around the ocean and the woodlands,

Forest, lichen, crawling over rocks, up stairs and breathing fresh air all help ground me.

Quail!  Couldn't be more pleased.

For Phil
Today my heart aches for you.
While I'm out walking I feel okay.
When I head home, I miss you.
I miss telling you about my walk, what I saw and what I want to do next.  I use my voice but it is your hug, your listening, your sweet eyes and having the love that radiated off of you surrounding me.
I miss you.
