My spirits have been better the last couple of days, not that I'm not missing Phil, but I feel there is an acceptance that has crept in that is necessary and unavoidable. The grief ebbs and flows mixed with anger, sadness, gratitude and with time seems to be mellowing. Reality sucks, but it is what it is. as Phil said. I treasure each memory and there are many. He was the best! I am a very lucky woman to be loved by such a beautiful soul. A very lucky woman indeed!
Morning walks continue to be the motivation and what I get up for. This morning was a little overcast but a very temperate temperature. I decided to check out the tidal pools again and what I found was a surprise! I entertained myself watching black tail deer in the pools.
My walks by the ocean are healing me, I feel it. The sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean, the gorgeous blue colors and I've heard that there are positive ions that contribute too! Whatever it is, my walks just make me feel better. 365 days of images is a lot of work but the pay off is healing, learning more about my camera and giving me a purpose.
Red-winged blackbird.
Coot.
Hearts show up all over the place. Is it just because I need to see it? or is it messages? I hope it is messages.
It is Grace's 15th birthday, I have been dog sitting for her family for almost 5 years. She is gentle, loving and just wants to be a good girl.
Two walks yesterday made for a tired ole woman this morning. A little slow, the weather was nice, I took my time on my walk, enjoyed the beach and made a great big circle.
It's my sister's birthday month, she was a Saint Patrick's Day baby. My Irish dad's dream come true. Ha! A huge thank you to Patti! She held my hand from afar during Covid and while Phil was going through some huge challenges. She made sure Phil had a laugh, and always knew he was loved. He was full of love and gratitude for her. Me too! Thank you Patti! T-shirts, meals and surprises helped more than I could ever say. She listened and chatted no matter what time of the day. Noelle and I also got fun surprises to help us get by too. I've worn my Alien slippers out.
Love it when the Egret is on the greens.
I love the dunes and am intrigued by the beauty of the flowers that peak from the sand.
I ran into deer all over the place this morning, it seemed every time I turned a corner there was another.
A little secret, I have a shamrock tattoo on my ankle. Luck of the Irish to everyone!
I spotted Western Blue Birds at Asilomar a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to get an image since then. They move quick and it has been a challenge.
I caught one today - Gorgeous.
Very lucky to get to spend time with three of my favorites! I asked them to smile and all three did.
