This morning my alarm went off at 5:30 as it does everyday. When I woke, I could hear the wind whipping around outside. It had rained all night and I knew it was going to be cold. I had to do a pep talk to myself as I did my stretches and got ready for the day. Wind gusts don't work with photography, esp wind off the ocean. I was a little slower getting out, probably because I had layered on so many clothes to keep warm. When I headed out it was with apprehension.
When I got out there I realized the challenge was on, it was me against the wind.
The gusts were up to 45 miles an hour, right off the ocean, I was cold and wet but very stubborn. I leaned into it and snapped the best I could.
Dark clouds, wild seas and shooting blind was what I was given to work with.
I spotted a shipwreck that had been washed up on the beach and there was a lone surfer that headed out into a wild sea.
In years gone by, glass bottom boats took tourists onto the bay.
Even the birds seem to struggle to fly in the wind.
The wind was kicking my ass, it was hard to walk, I couldn't hold the camera still and I was continuously cleaning my lens. It was a rough one. I tucked up by the houses for a moment to get away from the wind so I could clean my glasses and lens. Did I say I'm a tough old bitch? I am!
The waves were slapping everywhere! They came with force and the backing of the wind.
I made it through and I listened to the weather, this week just might be an exciting week.
Looks like the weather challenges are on.
I'm ready for this! I can do it!
