Happy Easter from Monterey Bay! Spring has arrived, flowers are blooming, nests are being made and babies are being born. This mornings walk was calming and I find I'm always surrounded by beautiful memories. I breathed the air, felt the sun on my skin and felt alive. I will take the moments of happiness.
I'm grateful for photography, my camera and the beauty that surrounds me.
I started at the jetty and checked both wharfs looking for wildlife. I love watching animals and I find the wildlife photography to be a passion. It is like a scavenger hunt with me looking for the otters, sea lions, seals and birds as the prize.
The sunrise was just a burst of rays through the clouds.
Today I tried to look for Easter color.......I can never resist the poppies.
The sky was divided into light and dark. Just like life. A million years ago when I was a freshman in college, I was placed in an honors philosophy class. When I first got assigned the class I was disappointed and wondered why they had stuck me there. As the class progressed I soon realized that I had a passion for the class. There was only 6 people and we discussed all the grand ideas of the world. We had to write a paper at the end of the semester, I chose good versus evil. Such a big thought and the sky reflected it today. The blend of the two is the quest.....
A big yawn from a harbor seal.
Sea lions are a noisy lot, they bark, cough and snort. They remind me of dogs, watching them play is a joy to me. Each face has character, as they look at me, I see the curiosity and personalities.
Only one sea otter, the water looked pretty surrounding it.
A surprise awaited me on Wharf 2 - an impromptu car show and parade. A group of people and their cars were parked at the end of the wharf. I got to wander through and admire. As they left it was my Easter parade! Phil would have enjoyed it. We spent as much time looking at cars as we could as Phil went through treatments. Even if he wasn't feeling good, I could always get him out to look at a car.
As you walk down the wharf, the seagulls take off, it reminds me of synchronized diving.
Easter flowers..... Noelle and I had a day of food, laughs and we have been working on 365 days of images. It is keeping the whole family busy right now. Working with Noelle and Nicole has bolstered my mood and given me motivation. Gratitude for family and friends, I don't know how I would have navigated this journey without the love that has been given to me.
Noelle has done it again. Another great video with this weeks images. Please check it out!
For Phil
Oh how I miss you. Today I had a moment when I opened a Mexican coke. My mind went to all the lunches that we shared with Noelle at La Bahia. I cried for a moment, because I miss you, but I love every single lovely memory. As I watched the car parade today, I could see your smile. The most beautiful smile ever!!!!
