Happy Valentine's Day.
Today was filled with memories of Phil.
I took him with me on my walk this morning. I thought of the beginning when we began taking walks for healing, Phil had just been diagnosed with cancer, had surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. He was depressed, scared and struggling, I try to make a game of our walks. We began looking for the small beauty, the birds, flowers and waves to help us make it through very difficult moments. Now here I am using my walks to help heal me through grief of losing the love of my life. It is comforting to see all the places we walked, each place having many memories. We spent 4 years walking and talking, sometimes his health was stable and others, not so much. We always managed to find beauty in the moment.
Pink Valentine's Morning
Phil was great at spotting birds for me to take images of. This morning he seemed to be helping me find birds, they were everywhere!
The sun shined, the ocean sparkled and my memories made me realize how splendid our love was. I know that I'm lucky to know the love we shared. It was amazing and I'm very grateful for every moment we spent together. I miss him and life is not the same....
The neighborhood deer were out and about.
