Very foggy start to the day, the marine layer was thick.  Asilomar Beach was the destination.

The sun tried to peek out from behind the clouds.

Tide was coming in and the waves were big.

Surfing was exciting, even from the shore.

Back through the dunes.

For Phil

Remembering the time we were in Vegas and the Madonna impersonator called you onto stage.  She gave you a great big kiss and left lips on your cheek.  You wore her lipstick on your cheek the rest of the evening.  Still makes me laugh.

It rained throughout the night, I kept the door open while I slept and enjoyed the sound of the rain.  This morning I could hear the waves and I took all morning, walking, enjoying the show.

The moon made a brief showing, coming out from behind the clouds.

I only saw three surfers early this morning.  Below is the person that hung in there and did an amazing job at riding some wild, huge waves.

For Phil

October was always a special month to us.  I have many memories of our adventures around our anniversary.  Santa Barbara zoo at Halloween, the scarecrows of Cambria, walking under the full moon in Solvang, watching people in Halloween costumes in Santa Fe or a weekend in Las Vegas, whatever we did it was heaven.  I'm happy for the memories but today I'm missing you.  I feel like I want to do something but I'm frozen in place at the same time.
