Today was a special day, a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. A family favorite! We started going to the aquarium in the late 80's, when my daughter's, Nicole and Noelle were youngsters. We have a history and a love affair with the place. Phil had a job in security there before he had Phil's Auto Repair, I worked in the Gift and Book store until Phil was diagnosed with cancer, Noelle in the cafe. Our family makes sure to have a visit there anytime we get together. But I have not been since before Phil died. The pandemic hit, they had to close. I have been keeping pretty secluded and away from crowds.
The aquarium is quiet right now in between the holidays, so I decided to take advantage and visit.
The rush of memories and emotion that came with the visit, took me by surprise. I love the aquarium! So many wonderful memories.....
I'm thrilled they are open again and thank them for the education in conservation that they provide.
I took a few images while I enjoyed the beauty of the exhibits.
For Phil
Honey, today it hurts, I miss you, the holidays are hard. Visions of us having lunch together at the aquarium, our times with Ray at the bar in the restaurant, wandering around hand in hand, evenings on the deck, I could feel it all. I'm doing my best, but I miss you terribly. You left a big space in all of our hearts. I miss you!
Memories from past trips at the aquarium. Awe Phil, they were the best days ever!
Nicole and Noelle a very long time ago on a visit to the aquarium.
Meeting Chef Carla Hall, she was doing a book signing.
