My morning started being greeted by Ernesto at Catalpa Street Garage.  I decided to get my car serviced and as Phil told me to do, "drive it until it dies".  I have been considering buying a different car but I feel I need to ground a little more before making big decisions.

I know Phil was smiling at me because he liked the car I'm driving and he thought that it would last me for a while.   What would make him really happy is his friend Vic has a new venture - Catalpa Street Garage.  It is a family endeavor and not only did I get to see Vic, I saw his brother Isaias, both friends of Phil.  It made me have a moment of feeling close to Phil.  Not only that, I was where I felt trust and everyone made me feel welcome.  I know Phil would have been pleased, he admired and liked Vic.  Vic worked with Phil and helped him countless times with Phil's Auto Repair.  Thank you to all of you, I loved seeing you and appreciate you very much.  If you are needing car repair this is one I'm recommending for many reasons.

I took my walk while they worked on my car.  I headed to the Boardwalk, it was a good walk and Santa Cruz is always fun!   I tried to capture the feeling of the day there.

I headed down 7th Street heading toward the ocean.

Art at the Animal Shelter.

The image of the man below grabbed my attention.
I found this:
A WORLD RENOWNED AMERICAN MUSICAL PIONEER, MAVERICK, COMPOSER, OUT AND PROUD GAY MAN, AND GENTLE QUEER SPIRIT, LOU SILVER HARRISON WAS PART OF OUR SANTA CRUZ LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY FOR OVER 40 YEARS.

There was fruit and flowers everywhere.

The Crow's Nest at the harbor was a favorite of Phil's.   Before his diagnosis of cancer, we often had a drink there overlooking the ocean.  Many wonderful memories.

The Bodacious pulled in...

A gorgeous walk on the beach.

I had to run to beat the ocean around this big rock to get an image of the roller coaster.

Just this.  I pushed it on the way back, but always have time to stop and look at the flowers.

For Phil
Oh Philly, I miss you.  Today I know you would have been so pleased.  I could feel you smiling at me.  I still can hear you in my head, you are continue to help me.  I did what you would have suggested.  I saw Vic and Isaias!  It is still making me smile.
