Billie Holiday playing, driving down the highway and my mind full of memories of Phil started the day. First time I have listened to jazz in a long while. Phil listened to jazz for the last couple of weeks of his life....24/7. I've had a hard time listening to it since he died, but this morning I felt like it was necessary for the healing. I was on my way to Capitola, the memories and tears flowed. By the time I got to Capitola the music was loud, the mood was getting better and I enjoyed my walk around the town. We loved jazz, I'm going to listen to it more.
Surfers, color and whimsy stole my attention and heart.
Exploring a new path by Soquel Creek was fun to explore.
Through the neighborhoods.
The doors were fabulous.
Shop windows were fun and inspiring!
For Phil:
The laughs, the drinks by the sea and sharing ice cream danced in my head.
I wanted to put my hand on your knee and give it a squeeze like I did as we drove.
Being in Capitola reminded me of our trips.
Bittersweet - I miss you.
Will love you always.
Billie Holiday's lyrics and voice said it all.
Good morning heartache, you old gloomy sight
Good morning heartache, thought we said goodbye last night
I turned and tossed until it seemed you had gone
But here you are with the dawn
Wish I'd forget you, but you're here to stay
It seems I met you when my love went away
Now everyday I start by saying to you
Good morning heartache, what's new
Stop haunting me now
Can't chase you no how
Just leave me alone
I've got those Monday blues
Straight through Sunday blues
Good morning heartache, here we go again
Good morning heartache, you're the one who knew me when
Might as well get used to you hanging around
Good morning heartache, sit down
Stop haunting me now
Can't chase you no how
Just leave me alone
I've got those Monday blues
Straight through Sunday blues
Good morning heartache, here we go again
Good morning heartache, you're the one who knew me when
Might as well get used to you hanging around
Good morning heartache, sit down
