365 days of images - - Day 109- April 18, 2021 - Linda's Intuitive Images LMH -- Fog, The Harbor and a call to the SPCA

Foggy - really foggy morning.  Visibility was low.  I set out with a challenge of low lighting, to me that is a difficult one.  I like lighting and esp morning light.  I took on the challenge and I was off.

I spot a heron feeding on the beach by Fisherman's Wharf.

I love blue herons, it is fun to watch them spot their dinner in the water below.

The heron catches a fish and it looks like it is smoking a joint, it cracks me up, it's nice to smile.

Then a bird comes floating in right beside the heron.

All the birds in the area pay attention to the bird that lands on the beach.  The way it was moving seemed strange and I watch, take photos and pay attention.

Something seems wrong and when the seagull pulls on it's wing I get out my phone and look up the SPCA.  I call and they ask if I can collect the bird and bring it to them.  I told them I was walking and didn't have anyway to transport the bird.  They tell me that I can go to the Harbor Master office and gather a box and leave the bird there for them to pick up.  I tell them I can do that.
In one of my previous chapters of life, I was a manager at a Pet Smart.  My job was to take care of the animals in the store.  We sold big birds, I hand fed Macaws, Cockatoos and the like.  I felt confident I could do it.
It is a 5 minute walk to the Harbor Master's office from where I was, I set out only to find the office closed when I got there.  I wait just a few minutes, they came in and they tell me to grab a container from under the stairs.  There was only very large containers, all too big for me to carry by myself.  They hook me up with a trash can and I head back to the beach.  When I got back there, the bird was gone.  I call the SPCA back and tell them.  He tells me someone that works at the aquarium, picked the bird up and took it to the aquarium, The SPCA would pick up the bird there. The bird was a murre.  Yahoooooo.  I take the trash can back and continue on my walk.
Can you believe it?  Am I getting messages from the universe.  I have always wanted to be a "wildlife warrior".  I guess this week my dreams have come true.  A sea lion, 2 otters and a bird all in a week.  All this time I have been walking and this is the first week like this.....

The fog just seemed to get thicker.  I watched them wind a net onto a fishing boat.  The harbor seemed almost mystical in the thick air.

Look at the eyebrows on a very cute pigeon.

The man below had a cute crew of two dogs.

The whale watching patrons all had masks on.

The clouds started breaking, I saw big lips in them.  The sun came in and out.
I ended up walking 6 miles and damn, I'm tired.  It was a big week for me.  I have to say that although it is stressful to find injured animals, I like being able to help.  It is a chance to give back and that does a soul good.

For Phil
Today reminded me of the day you and I found the goose with the fishing line around its legs.  I knew you were afraid of big birds, so I told you I would catch it if you would cut the line off.
We helped the goose and I loved the way you looked at me for being brave.  Ha!  You would climb into a burning building but no birds.  I'm smiling thinking of it.  I love and miss you.  We had the best adventures, didn't we?

This week's video that Noelle made is amazing, it was an exciting week!
