My love of walking was influenced by my dad. When he was stationed in France and Germany, I can remember him taking me for long walks all over the countryside. I would have been 7 - 9 years old. I loved being in nature then too! He had an amazing skill of jumping fences, holding himself on the post and throwing himself over. He would then help me climb under or lift me over. Flowers, bugs and trees...this little girl's heaven. Cherished memories! I love you dad.

I was up and out before the sun came up this morning. Pacific Grove in the morning is quiet, quaint and beautiful. I have been filled with all kinds of thoughts, memories and flashbacks in the last couple of days, working through it all.

Our friend Gerry Low Sabado passed away this morning.
She found out she too had brain cancer - serendipity played in our relationship in many ways. I will miss her kindness and stories. Love and condolences to her family and friends, she had many!
