We are having what they call June gloom.  A marine layer that sits over the bay and burns off in the afternoons to sunny skies.  I prefer morning walks, so I'm trying to work with the fog and mist while I'm taking images.
Cannery Row has all kinds of little alleys and nooks that lead to the ocean.  This morning I spent time exploring the oceanside of the Row, I like it back there.  Look for the coastal access areas, if you are visiting, they are worth a peek.

.  I did an interview about my blog and Phil's journey for a local newspaper today.  It is difficult to tell the story and yet it is a release to let it out.  Grief is hard to share, people avoid talking about pain and avoid it like a pandemic. When in fact, death is something we all have to experience and ultimately go through.  My feeling is that it is healthy to talk about it.  Tomorrow morning a photographer will join me on my walk to take photos of me taking photos.  I'm excited to see what turns out from this experience.  I will fill in more details as it moves along.

I loved the book Cannery Row and the movie that was made from it.  The mood, the story and Doc Ricketts, he is my history crush.  Below is his backyard, the description and photo that sit outside his lab - the Pacific Biological Laboratories.

Phil knew about my crush on Doc Ricketts and was accepting of it.  Ha!

To Phil
I have been doing my best to tell your story.
Our story....
I miss you, I remember everything.
Your courage is what stands out to me.
When asked what attracted me to you, I said your kindness.
It made me cry, you were the kindest person I have ever met.
