I'm a raft floating in between beautiful memories and waves of flashbacks of things I want to forget. I get the feeling that it is time to figure out how to just float there and/or ride the waves. More good times than bad, one damn day at a time!
Today I walked Asilomar Beach and through the dunes on the Asilomar Conference Grounds. The beach was covered with jellies that had washed in. The conference grounds had yellow Menzies' Wallflowers which brightened the sand of the dunes.
Birdwatching is just a piece of heaven to me.
"Menzies’ wallflower is a California endangered plant species, which means that killing or possession of plants collected from the wild is prohibited by the California Endangered Species Act (CESA)."
On the way home, I found beauty and deer.
For Phil
It is hard to lose your best friend.
I miss you more than I can express.
In February 2020 we were trying to keep our spirits up, the photo below will take you to the blog that we visited Earthbound Farms.
This is a photo of Phil from 1 year ago today. It was about this time that the decline began to take place. He was undergoing radiation and after that he decided he wouldn't undergo any more treatments. One of the most heartbreaking and profound part of our journey began.
I'm still just muddling through one day at a time.
I continue to find beauty in my moments.
