Ending the clinical study, painted rocks, day to day life and looking forward to adventures

Found painted rock from Monterey County Rocks

Phil did 2 full weeks of the clinical trial drug and then his first dose of chemo therapy (which should happen every 6 weeks).  His time on the clinical trial drug was brutal, he was sick, sad and I have never heard anyone's stomach make that loud of a noise before.

After much thought, discussion and talking to doctors Phil decided to quit the clinical trial drug.  As of right now he will continue to do chemotherapy.  There is another MRI on May 3rd which we will learn more and will find out where the next treatment leads us.  None of this taken lightly.  We spend hours talking about what we are going through, how to proceed and trying to just accept where we are.  Quality of life is important, trying to get a few adventures in and keeping as healthy as we possibly can is the goal.

Phil was weak after the biopsy, clinical trial and the chemo.  We started out with short walks, some photography and what we consider "the new normal", which consists of visiting the hospital once a week to get labs done, a doctor or two a month and waiting to see what happens on the next MRI.  Oh and dog sitting..I guess I should say pet sitting..being a psychic - plus looking for joy, perhaps even a bit of peace.

We have spent many hours at the hospital, Phil is popular as we check in and walk about.  He seems to have a friend at every stop.

Taking the time to check out the koi pond at the hospital is essential for relaxation.

We have been finding painted rocks while we have been on our walks.  We decided since we have been spending time at the hospital that we will re hide the rocks for someone else to find.   We hope it brings someone as much joy as they bring us.

Phil placing rock at the hospital.

Taking care of animal souls has opened up my life so that I have time to care for Phil too!  They have all helped Phil heal and help sustain us financially too.  Each one of them gave him love in some way, it sure helps a guy feel better.

Hundreds of Readings

Taking walks and photos has been a blessing for Phil and I.  Each walk and breath of fresh air filled us with hope, love and courage to keep moving.  It is pupping season, we found happiness at the seal rookery.

and the next week begins again with a sunrise and hope

a visit to the hospital, we hide another rock, we see another doctor

Enjoying simple pleasures as they come.

and then there is a visit from a friend, a bag of popcorn by the door or an Adventure Monday to keep us going....

Each day Phil has been regaining strength.  We have been enjoying the simple pleasures.  There is gratitude, there is hope and there is love.

Thank you for your support, love and prayers
