Radiation and Chemo Update - Gratitude and Love getting us through

Update on Phil:  Phil went to both the Radiation and Chemo Oncologists yesterday.  It looks like radiation and chemo therapy will both end on May 12 (Or very close to that date) and he will be given a break.  A couple of weeks of just healing and then back to chemo at a heavier dosage.  I will be looking forward to a break from it all and I am positive Phil will be too. Nervous about raising the dose of the chemo, but Phil is determined to do what is going to take to make him well.   The goal is to keep Phil as healthy as we can through this process.  It is taxing on him physically and mentally but we are remaining positive and optimistic.  Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts.  Group energy and prayer are very important at this time.  Thank you in advance, and for all that has been given to us thus far.

We have still been getting out for our daily walks, they are shorter and a nap is required after, but we are enjoying them just as much.  We are still spotting all the small beauties at the ocean and in our own neighborhood.  Yesterday we spotted a whale lunging up out of the sea, we think it might have been on orca.  Spectacular!!

Phil is losing his hair, but is still as handsome as ever.  There is a dabbing process in the drying of the hair as the scalp is tender from radiation.  There are challenges that go along with this cancer and healing process.  He is meeting these challenges with determination.  Right now the biggest challenges are anxiety and fatigue.  The doctors encourage zen music, a little exercise and sleep.  We are following what Phil's body tells us to do.   He becomes frustrated very easily, emotions are on the sleeve and he tires very easily. But he is extraordinarily loving,  always tells me thank you continually and is grateful beyond words for what has been going on around him.  We continue to work on getting him stronger everyday.  Love and Help, Good Friends and Family, Compassion and more.

The fundraising was a success, we appreciate everyone's effort and support.  Thank you to everyone who supported us through the closing of Ma's Green Living and at our Pampered Chef party.  We can't express how much each of you mean to us and we will pay forward for all of this when things get better.  Words simply can't express the appreciation we feel.   The girls started a #selfiesforphil, he has been having a great time looking at that.  Small things that raise his spirits are much appreciated.  Compassion and love are getting him through at this point.

He was tired and a little cranky, but he humored me and let me take this photo with the girls.  My two daughters are my rock, they have helped me in every way along this journey.  Much love to you Noelle and Nicole.  ( the photo was taken the morning before the closing of Ma's)  He loves and appreciates both of you.

I'm going to say this experience has taught me many things, but most of all it has taught me not to waste one minute of this beautiful life.  I can't imagine what Phil must be going through.  I'm trying to make him as comfortable and happy as I possibly can.  Through the years he has done precisely that for me, he has always been there, with love and respect.
