Phil and Linda's Adventure - All roads lead to the Redwood Forest

The journey continues - we've gone from Monterey to Santa Barbara and we decide that we want to spend the rest of our week off, in Northern California, so we set off.  We are greeted by a rainbow as we exit the hotel. So long Santa Barbara, you were warm, gracious and we had a great time!
First stop for breakfast in Solvang, our breakfast was just ok so I won't brag about where we ate, nor was it awful so I won't dis them.  Let's just say poor service, and just ok, too expensive breakfast.  We played tourist after breakfast, walked around and shopped.  Solvang is a delightful Danish village, with fun shops and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

After driving for a bit, we pulled off the highway right past Pismo Beach in a little neighborhood for a snack and a break.  It was a beautiful day - Phil took a business call, I walked around the area and snapped some great photos.

Lunchtime arrived and we were in Avila Beach, we decided to make sandwiches and watch the dogs play on the beach.  I find Avila Beach very agreeable and it was especially scenic that day.

Traveling up Hwy 1 in California is one of our favorite things to do.  We enjoyed our trek up through Big Sur, it is always stunning.  The sun began to set as we left Big Sur, we pulled off at Rocky Point to eat and watch the sunset.  It was an incredible sunset and the view from Rocky Point was gorgeous.  All day we saw blows from the migrating whales, in the sunset these blows look magical.

The night ended at the Moss Landing KOA, it was late and I didn't take any photos, but it was a nice spot, the restrooms were clean and it was a great ending to the day.

Now it seems that passing through Monterey made my body feel like something was out of whack, no home to go to...........I felt out of sorts -- we traveled up the 1 through San Francisco and to Cloverdale, California to the KOA, to camp.  I did not take one photo, I was cranky with Phil and just not myself...........I just needed a reminder that the new apartment was around the corner and give it up to the universe -- continue your adventure Linda.  Just breathe, relax and keep going.

Woke up on the right side of the bed in Cloverdale, took a couple of photos in a gentle rain at the KOA.  It is one of our favorite KOA's, it is well maintained, the staff is fabulous and the area is full of wineries, a couple of casinos and incredible scenery.

We headed straight up the 101 heading toward Northern California - the redwoods calling to us.  Phil and I love to hike in the Redwood Forest.  Magical is all I can say about it -- Just magical.  We took our time, stopped and hiked, picnicked, laughed and enjoyed the magic.  We meditated, breathed the fresh air and enjoyed the light energy in the forest.
That night we spent the night in a Best Western Plus, Humboldt Bay Inn in downtown Eureka, California.  I used priceline.com and got a great deal.  The hotel was more than comfortable, had a laundry, free breakfast and the grounds were very pretty and well kept.  We ate dinner at the diner on the property called Kristina's where we had a lovely meal with fantastic service!

Here's some photos of the magical Redwood Forest.  I did my Egyptian stone readings in the forest, I'm sure that those I read for had especially interesting readings, the energy in the woods is fantastic.  Phil and I always leave energized.
