Noelle and I got up early and arrived at the Santa Barbara Zoo as they opened. The flowers were beautiful in the parking lot. We were excited to check out the zoo. We have been visiting the zoo since my daughters were young girls. It has been a constant pleasure through the years.
We relaxed, watched the animals and have been very appreciative to be able to get out of the house and back to some sort of life. We were masked and social distanced but we had a wonderful time. I snapped photos as we went, usually 1 or 2 images per animal until I got to the flamingos, it seems I have a fondness for them. Ha, pink feathers are pretty.
The image below makes me wonder what seems wrong with this picture. Haha.
A late lunch at the Shoreline Cafe. I walked on Ledbetter Beach, we used to live up the hill and I walked the beach almost daily. My daughters grew up here, I had a business on the Mesa for many years, friends, memories and I was happy to be there.
With it getting dark so early, we headed back home, admiring the moon and the sunset as we drove.
For Phil
My mind danced with memories of our times in Santa Barbara. Walks hand in hand on the beach, nights on State Street, seeing Forest Gump (which you loved and what encouraged me to do 365 days of images) and all our trips to the zoo. Noelle and I had a great time, we missed you but we feel like you were there with us in spirit.
Miss you Philly.
Goodbyes always make me Cry - Healing trip to Solvang, Cambria and Santa Barbara
Noelle has been putting coins in there every since she was a little girl. 😀
