Low energy for the last couple of days.  I continued to walk and take photos but I added a nap into the repertoire.   Looking for color.  Looking for myself.  Looking for a good image.

Always entertained by a ground squirrel or two.

I made my way through Cannery Row toward the jetty.  Noelle (my daughter) was worried about the cormorant in yesterday's video.  It was laying there very still, I told her I thought it was sleeping.  I've been watching that nest and the goings on for a few weeks now.  It isn't like all the other nests, with a couple of chicks and two working parents.  This seems to be a single adult and chick.  It was the fanciest nest to start with, it is mostly a great big chick now.
A gull flew in and when it landed I noticed two young gulls with it.

I then saw Magnolia Monterey and was taken in by the window.  I haven't seen it before, it was charming.

I texted Noelle and let her know the cormorant was fine and it looks like
Baby Huey.  For us of the mature crowd we know what that means.

Headed back to Pacific Grove looking for color.  I went straight to the Butterfly House.
A love story!

"When you drive down 9th street in Pacific Grove, something definitely catches your eye. It’s a colorful house, with an even more colorful background. J Jackson and his wife Sonja moved to the Central Coast in the 70s. And shortly after, Sonja began losing her eyesight. “We noticed when she was really going blind that what came in her view was really bright colors and so one day I just said to her, I was going to go out and make her a beautiful butterfly house with colors she could see,” says J. He began building, all so Sonja could always find her way home. And she says after all these years, she has the same feelings about J’s labor of love. “Obviously very proud and very happy to have something so beautiful in the area,” says Sonja. Thousands of people flock to check out what’s now known as “The Butterfly House.” “Now the word has got out because women and Facebook has made this house famous,” says J. If you’re lucky, you can find J in his workshop putting together more butterflies. The couple has even created the “wall of love” to allow others to buy butterflies for their loved ones–those who have passed and those who are still here. The funds raised from that go to the Blind and Visually Impaired Center of Monterey County, a cause close to their hearts. Many ask J what will happen to the butterfly house when he and Sonja are gone. “My philosophy is when I’m dead, I’m going to be free and I won’t have to worry about it. I’ll let the world worry about it. So I’ll never be concerned about what’s going to happen when I die. Just…that’s a waste of energy. So that’s why I live my life. ”But for now, J says he’ll continue to add to the home for Sonja, his inspiration and true love." -- Story from KION news.

J passed away on Nov. 1, 2020

Through the neighborhoods....

Breakfast at Aliotti's Victorian Corner is always a treat!

I got pulled into the Holman building by the chandelier.

Back in the day it was the department store, it is now condominiums.

I was taking some images of International Cuisine and I was invited in, even though it was very early in the morning.  A favorite of ours, our family has had many dinners and celebrations there.  During the pandemic they delivered and we were still able to enjoy a dinner!

365 days of images is a blessing.

For Phil
I'm living and finding my way.
Your words and smile live in my mind.
Miss you.
