Life without Phil has been different for me.  He was a huge part of my life for 23 years and the last
4 1/2 years of his life, we were together 24/7.  I've always been of an independent nature but Phil took care of many things in our lives.  Being a mechanic, one of the things he handled was the care of the car and I let him do it.  Today I tackled getting tires put on the car, each small triumph reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to.  It empowered me and I know Phil is smiling about it.  In fact I had a very Phil day all the way around.

I took a walk before tackling the car tires and while I was at the jetty I spotted a man pulling a fish in.  I watched him for 20 or more minutes, finessing the fish.  It was like a dance, he used such patience and I couldn't quit watching.  I could tell it was a big fish.
Phil and I had a little boat when we lived in Arkansas, we spent many summer afternoons fishing.  Well he fished and I enjoyed the lake.
The man tried to let the fish tire, he pulled it in a little at a time.  I could tell he had fished many times before.  His pole and line being stretched to the limit and then snap the line broke.  I yelled Shit! Ha!  It was disappointing, I wanted to see what he had.  What he ended up with was another story about the one that got away.  I ended up asking him his name and telling him how awesome the scene was.  His name was Victor and even though the fish got away, the excitement was fun to watch.

Thanks to Calderon Tires in Seaside, they made it easy for me.

I took a walk while they were putting my tires on.  Dodi Auto Sales was close and had some fun old cars out front.

Phil and I passed the Monterey Classic Car Rental often and Phil always admired the vintage cars as we passed.  Today I decided to take photos of the cars in the front lot.  I peaked in the front of the warehouse and was invited in to take photos.  A little piece of heaven, I had a great time, thank you for that!  My car experience ended up being very nice indeed!

For Phil
Yes I miss your help with the car and
the meals you cooked and
the love you always gave to me.
Thank you Philly.
I love and miss you always.
Know that I'm doing a good job, with a little help.  Thank you for all the knowledge you shared with me, I've been putting it to good use.
