Phil joins me in photography, Sunrise at Monterey Wharf and Harbor

As we enter 2018, we are filled with gratitude, love and hope.  Our feelings of being vulnerable are lessening as time goes on.   As the end of the year approaches and a the new year presents all its possibilities Phil and I have been doing a lot of conversing about things that are important to us.  What brings us joy, what has brought us sorrow, what we choose to leave behind, what we embrace and take forward with us.

Yesterday morning we got up with the sunrise and ran around together, taking photographs.  The morning meant everything to both of us.  A year ago we could not even imagine that Phil would ever be able to do what he is doing.  The doctors are even looking with amazement upon him.   His love for life, his drive to heal and your love are doing remarkable things.

His camera in hand, we prepared for the sunrise.  It was dark as we started, a quick breakfast, get dressed and run out.  We marvel at the progress Phil has made, Phil's hands shook so bad a year ago, he could not cut meat or tie his shoes without great difficulty.  He was taking a camera out and taking photos with a steady hand.  We attribute this to the CBD's, they are helping Phil in many ways.   Of course what we are watching is evidence based  knowledge and we are hoping that the science based information will be coming soon in our country.

We started at Lover's Point one of our favorite places in Pacific Grove.  It was still dark and we watched the sun rise over the ocean.

Phil's first photo showed the sun just showing color above the mountains behind Seaside.  We separate when we get to each destination, with the idea that we will get different photographs.   You know what? We did.......We had the best time, the sea air was refreshing, the sunrise was gorgeous and the walk invigorating.

Next we headed down Cannery Row and toward the Wharf, with the intentions of catching the sun peeking over the mountains from the Wharf.

I stop the car and Phil takes a photo of me taking my photo on Cannery Row.

As we head toward the Wharf the color in the clouds was pinkish orange and bright.  I always run while I take photos of the sunrise, because I like to try to get as many different locations as I can.  Phil was a trouper and kept right up with me.  I am wild crazy taking photos while Phil observes and takes the photo.

Phil caught the light peeking from  under the wharf.  That was our destination, just a little farther........

Monterey Fisherman's Wharf

The wharf was decorated for Christmas!  Phil and I again go our separate ways looking for photos.

Phil spots a crow sneaking bites of the ice that soon will be holding the sea food that will feed the guests that visit our area.  I think we are having many visitors from down south as Southern California is burning.  Phil and I love Santa Barbara and the area, we are overwhelmed with sadness and are keeping our friends in our thoughts.  We visit there as often as we can,  I have written a couple of blogs about our visits:

We shot into windows, off the wharf at the sunset and crawled all over the wharf looking for great photos.  Phil took these fabulous photos!

People were heading to work, there was a quiet that you don't find at the wharf, except first thing in the morning.

Look where I spotted Phil!  Do you see him, he was up there getting photos.  :)  Right hand corner in the photo above.

There was a fishing boat heading out, everyone seemed to be having fun.
The photos continued.

The decorations were diverse, fun and we had a great time.

We loved running all around, we pulled the joy, the holiday spirit right into ourselves.  We noticed there was not a transgender bathroom on the wharf......although there is plenty of public bathrooms to be had.

We take a more relaxed pace and notice some interesting sights and some local wildlife as well.  I'm excited about the upcoming Harbor Seal pupping season.  Which leads me to seal fetus, because our current President seems to have a certain feeling of entitlement, and I wanted to make sure to use all the "forbidden" words. (I must use humor at this point, I've learned laughing helps with almost everything, sure makes me feel better)  What Phil noticed, graffiti jelly on a piece of a building remaining from historic Cannery Row, scuba propellers, a humorous Fish Crew truck and an Egret.

I'm love the wildlife!  Harbor Seal, Egret and Pelicans.

Happy New Year, much love and thank you for your continued love and support.

LOVE and PEACE in the New Year.
