This is the best smile I have seen on his face in sometime.
Something great happened today......Nicole (my daughter) brought a CD from Patrick Sweany that had a note that said, "Phil, Keep pushing! Love you, Patrick Sweany". The smile on Phil's face was so incredible, it lit my heart. http://www.patricksweany.com/ My daughters and a friend, Bianca went to see Patrick last night in Santa Cruz. Phil was already pleased to see them (Nicole and Noelle) in a photo with Patrick but the CD just made his day. I'm positive these are the things that will help Phil beat this cancer. Thank you Patrick, sending you much love in return.
In the late 1990's Phil and I moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. http://www.eurekasprings.org/ It was the beginning of our lives together, it was a small sleepy, artist town in the Ozark mountains and we had the time of our lives. We moved into a wonderful little house on White Street, with the most incredible neighbors and our most wonderful adventure began. It was myself, Phil and my daughter Noelle who was about 14 years old at the time. Nicole (she was 18) had stayed in Santa Barbara, California, but she made her way to Eureka Springs to visit many times.
We worked many odd jobs, enjoyed the incredible people there and enjoyed a laid back gentle lifestyle. There were porch swings, long stories and beautiful times. One of our pleasures was a young man who played the blues. We couldn't get over his talent, we all loved him. The whole town loved him, what wasn't to love? There were many nights in small wonderful bars that we listened to Patrick play his guitar and sing to almost just us. Noelle loved him, we would get to where ever he was playing early and just to let her listen to him. There was a wonderful sunny day that I had made a "fru fru la la" cake, the neighborhood including Patrick joined us, there were many laughs, lots of love and it is a memory that has given Phil and I much pleasure over the years.
Phil, Nicole, Noelle and I went to see Patrick many times over the years, we loved to go see him at Chelsea's Bar, it was a special occasion for the whole family. As the years went by, Patrick moved away but would always come back for a yearly visit, a time we all looked forward to. The scene in Chelsea's was like a movie with dancing, drinking, old hippies and just plain fun. Patrick's talent was so obvious, his charisma and charm just added to it.
So today Phil and I took that CD, plugged it into the car stereo and drove around the Monterey Bay. It reminded us of some many wonderful memories of our time and friends in Eureka Springs. White Street Walk, parades, parties, friends and so much love. What a sweet beautiful time it was, was a great trip down memory lane. Thank you very much Patrick Sweany, you made it a great day!!!!!
Much love to all our friends and loved ones who still reside in Eureka Springs. Phil and I discussed it and we feel that Patrick had to end up there in that great little town, so that he could meet his wife. We were just lucky and blessed to be there at the same time. We always will look at that time as one of the best times in our lives.
Thank you again Patrick.........
