Phil's business closes the week after Christmas, I took the week off from the aquarium and Gypsea -
we were off onto adventure on the 26th of December. It was a flurry of all those last minute things, putting items in storage, finish packing the van (okay throwing the end of our stuff into the van) and actually talking about what we were going to do. We decided to head south toward Santa Barbara..........we felt a little disheveled, in shock and excited to spend this time together. We met in Santa Barbara, that is another story and yes one of these days I will delve into that. I lived and ran a business, "The Baby Exchange" in Santa Barbara for a decade. Seeking the familiar?? I think so.
Off to Santa Barbara, I got onto hotwire.com, secured an inexpensive hotel and we were off........
On Hwy 1 heading toward Big Sur, a moment to look at the ocean reflect and do a couple of Egyptian stone readings. It was great fun doing reading along the way, thank you to the people who continue to support this incurable gypsy.
The pampas grass was beautiful glistening in the sun along the way.
A great spot to do my readings.
Fried fish in Pismo Beach at http://www.pismofishandchips.com/ made for a delicious picnic at the beach.
This guy could not take his eyes off our lunch, we had to keep an eye on our food, I have had them swoop and take a piece of chicken right out of my hand. But he got distracted by someone else and moved on.
A quick drive through Cambria and Solvang, both full of wonderful memories. My mind and heart so full of loving memories of my time in Southern California. Phil and I have picnicked by Moonstone Beach on many occasions - http://visitcambriaca.com/attractions-california/natural-wonders/moonstone-beach/. My sister lived in Solvang for awhile; we were young, fun and loved to dance. My sister was a dancer, a very talented, fun dancer. We danced on tables, with other people, with each other, we even had a couple of guys take of their belts and we danced to the snapping of their belts. :)
We arrived in Santa Barbara, tired and ready to relax. We drove in heading down State Street, taking in all the sights and enjoying the smells of the delicious food cooking.
Hotwire provided us with a beautiful hotel right on Cabrillo Blvd. across the street from the ocean. $100 room that was lovely, with an outstanding view at the Hilton. We picked up dinner from a local market that we loved to shop at, Lazy Acres provided us with a healthy wonderful dinner in our room. http://www.lazyacres.com/
Stay tuned for more photos!
