As I have been filing photographs I came across images of Alice. She holds a special place in my heart.
I found Alice at the back of an antique shop that was going out of business. I brought her home and worked on her for several months. She was collaged, decoupage was applied and yarn was braided into hair. The gypsea in her was brought out slowly and with love.
I decorated her with the idea we would take her traveling with us as we sold my arts and crafts. I made decoupage suitcases, decorated hats and made yarn wigs too! A friend and I were peddling wares, psychic readings and lots of fun as a traveling store. We did events, even traveling to San Francisco to participate in the Castro Street Fair. The whole family would pack up and take the show on the road!
My husband Phil and I would carry her around the Monterey Peninsula and take photos of her for my social media pages.

Seems like Alice liked a little fantasy and fun!

and Big Sur too!
Alice ended up being a model at my daughter Nicole's store "Ma's Green Living". She worked there until Phil was diagnosed with cancer. At that point she was auctioned off and the store closed as we went on the journey with Phil. She ended up in a good home and is living a relaxed life now.

Happy to look back, I don't know if I will ever create something like Alice again........
