Bonnie was looking adorable if I do say so myself.
Our walk today was a trip to the farmers market on Alvarado St in Monterey, California. One of the additions to our lifestyle besides walking is trying to eat fresh foods. Our friends Bob and Bonnie invited us, we love them and we were on our way. We know Bonnie and Bob from our Monterey Bay Aquarium days. They worked with me in the gift store and Phil was working in Security at the aquarium. We love the aquarium and my daughter Noelle is still working there. It is a beautiful place, if you haven't visited, it is well worth a visit. Bonnie and Bob are delightful and have been fabulous with us during recovery. It takes a certain amount of bravery to hang out with people who are on a journey with brain cancer. In reality, they just treat us as they always have and we all realize life is what it is. We like that about them, and we had freaking fun. It's dinner with Bonnie and Bob tomorrow night and we are looking forward to it. We are keeping busy and continue to have a one day at a time attitude. The upcoming MRI is in the back of our minds, but we are continuing to enjoy life. Phil has been feeling good, we are loving our apartment and there is lots of love to go around.
Sometimes figuring out the parking garage takes a little help.
Here's a look at the farmers market, my photo assignment of the day.
Fresh produce.
Great music!
Alvarado Street has many great pubs, breweries and restaurants.
Yum Chocolate!
I spent a little time talking to him on a previous trip to the market, he likes showing how his vintage record player works and he plays fabulous records too.
This adorable pup is a regular with it's his musician dad.
It was busy and there were vegetables flying everywhere.
Bob got into the corn on the cob and Phil and Bonnie look for what they want.
Yum! The Honey Ladies had tasty honey.
Fabulous music, I watched him for awhile.
Bob and Bonnie told us about Pluots and let me tell you what, they are delicious. Plum plus apricot makes delectable
Bob was cashing in on produce.
This mans wood carvings caught my eye, the name of his business was Zarate. His art was very detailed and they had very cool succulent gardens in them.
We parted ways after a great time at the farmers market, we all had full bags. Phil and I started our walk home. Bob and Bonnie we had a great time as always.
Your friendship is much valued and we are glad you are back in town.
On the way home, there were some beautiful sights. Healing walks sustain us and fill us full of hope.
Photography continues to be a therapy and joy to me. I don't know what I would do with out it. . Phil and I are always looking for the next beautiful scene, animal or surprise. It keeps us busy and noticing all the small things in life.
Please remember to tell the people in your life that you love them. The drama, negative and petty stuff doesn't matter. What matters are the people you love, hug them, squeeze them and tell them you love them. You never know what the next minute brings........
